Our Mission
More and more people are developing relationships that cross ethnic,
racial, religious, lingual, national, and cultural lines thus creating
offspring who embody diversity...literally!
This site is provided for those involved in the parenting of mixed-heritage
and trans-heritage adopted people to gain information, support one
another and help our world shift into one of greater understanding
and acceptance.
About Zeenat Kasubhai-Ashong
Greetings! I am ethnically East Indian and was born in Singapore.
I grew up in Southern California and was fortunate to have traveled
much of the world starting at a young age due to my parents love
for traveling. I was raised Muslim although I have been practicing
non-denominational spirituality for many years.
My son, Dalil Aryeetey, is a wonderful, loving mixed-heritage boy (please see picture to the right) whose father is a native of Ghana, West Africa and has a Methodist rearing.
My passion is diversity and multicultural issues in all facets
of life ranging from intimate relationships to the educational system.
I have a B.A. in Development Studies (with a focus on cross-cultural
relations and education) and a M.S. in Counseling while I am currently
pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Education. I work as a therapist, predominantly
with children and their families.
I believe strongly in the vision of a more peaceful world arising
from acceptance, understanding and love that dissolves the boundaries
we have created while celebrating the beauty of our differences.
I hope you join me in creating this reality.
You may contact me at zeenat.kasubhai@cgu.edu.
I would love to hear from you!!! I am available for consultation
as well as conducting workshops, teaching seminars, and facilitating
groups in various settings on subjects related to diversity and
multiculturalism.
About the Designer of the Diverse Village Website
Heather Larson is a close friend of mine who believes in progressive
change and, in turn, the mission of this website. You can find more information about her work

Parenting Beyond Boundaries
We are starting an organization designed for parents of mixed-heritage
and trans-heritage adopted children called "Parenting Beyond
Boundaries". If you are interested in being involved, please
contact Zeenat at zeenat.kasubhai@cgu.edu.
Thank you.
The hope is that mixed-heritage families can connect in various
locations throughout the world and a newsletter, relevant articles
and other resources can be sent to members.
